Wow, who doesn't love Bruce Pearl? He is such an inspirational speaker and knows how to be encouraging while also being very informative. I think that the main thing that stuck with me is how you don't have to be a "leader" to be successful. I've briefly talked about I can be the type of person who feels the constant need to take charge and make a name for myself that way. However, there are so many situations where I don't really need to do that as Pearl has highlighted. I need to be aware of my strengths and use them to the best of my ability which is something I strive to do every day.

I really like that you pointed out Pearl saying you don't have to be a leader to be successful. I think we tend to look to our leaders in hopes of becoming just like them, thinking that that is what everyone is striving to be and that is what WE must be. But Pearl really expresses that you don't have to have a title to do what needs to be done. I mean, you don't have to be a chef to be good a cooking. So why is it that the stigma around being a leader is any different? Instead of aiming for the title, we should instead focus on our actions, focus on the steps we take. In doing so, we would be more effective in what we do and things could only get better from there.
