I think that this is where his leadership skills really shone. In one short video, Brad was able to give an entire class of different students something that they could identify with on a personal level.
Being able to make yourself relatable and able to connect with very, very different people is an important quality. Brad set himself apart in that he didn't set this relatability up in a way that said "I'm better than you, but you can get there" but in a way that says "I struggle. Do you struggle? Let's struggle together." The capacity to being disparate people together and give of yourself is something I want to grow in this year.
I too think the struggle isn't just real, but is very very much so relatable. I love how vulnerable Brad was in how he didn't place himself on a pedestal because of his job title or position in the company. He makes himself relatable, which is incredibly valuable as a leader
I liked this aspect about Brad's interview as well. True leaders should not put themselves on a pedestal above others, but should be able to resonate with those who they lead. In saying that we all struggle, Brad basically puts everyone on the same playing field.
