This video stands out to me because I think it addresses not only an issue in leadership, but also an issue in our healthcare system as a whole. I personally know too many family members and family friends who have been to countless facilities trying to seek someone who is a leader, but who is also kind and truly has their patients best interest in mind. Empathy is something that I think is very scarce in the world right now and I think we need to take Ben's words very seriously and turn them into actions. One of the simplest statements in this video stood out to me, "If you want to be a leader at Kindred, you're going to be committed." because I think this statement is applicable to any leadership or working position out there. Commitment to your job, your followers, and your customers is so important to the overall moral of a team and of a company, and I think many leaders underestimate this.
